Moving

Avoid a Haphazard Choice for your moving company

There are many reasons people move. Hopefully your move is by choice and its a happy time in your life. But, unfortunately, many people today are forced to relocate due to finances, family matters or misfortune. And for those reasons, and many more, you’re probably not all that excited about the move. If this is the case, an understandable reaction of just wanting to “get it over with” is reasonable. It’s a depressing situation, so the last thing a person really wants to do is research into who the best moving company is. But choosing the wrong moving company can double your stress level so properly researching professional movers is vital.
Here’s two quick things you can look for to see if you’ve picked a winner.
First, are they a memebr of a mover’s association? If so, realize that, as member of this association, they have to comply with strict guidelines set by the organization. In addition, if you have any issues with this moving company, you can go directly to this organization with your complaint and they will get it resolved.
Next, is to simply ask them for a reference of a past customer that you can call. They should, without hesitation, be able to provide you with someone whom they’ve recently moved. The point here is that if they do hesitate or avoid your request, they may not have a positive reputation. Therefore, you wouldn’t necessarily want entrust them to move your treasured items. If they do provide you with names and numbers, technically, you don’t actually have to call them (you can if you want) but you now know how willing the company is to give you this introduction/information/reference.
